Artist Spotlight #23-The Skyliners.
The Skyliners came from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This group would include Jimmy Beaumont, Janet Vogel, Wally Lester, Joe VerScheren and Jackie Taylor (on guitar). They would burst onto the musical scene in March of 1959 with their biggest hit-“Since I Don’t Have You”.
This song went to #12 in the country-“Since I Don’t Have You”.
From the summer of 1959, “This I Swear” (#26).
“Pennies From Heaven” would hit the charts in June of 1960 (#24).
From their 1959 album, their version of a 1949 hit by The Andrews Sisters-“I Can Dream, Can’t I” (Janet Vogel sings lead).
