The Cascades

Artist Spotlight #20-The Cascades. The Cascades were a quintet from San Diego, California, consisting of John Gummoe, Eddie Snyder, Ron Lynch, Dave Stevens and Dave Wilson. They would first hit the music scene in the summer of 1962, but their biggest hit was yet to come.

This was a song on the Bay Area music charts in August of 1962 (KYA, KEWB), peaking at #10 on both surveys. It wasn’t a national hit-“There’s A Reason”.

From January 1963, their biggest hit “Rhythm Of The Rain” (peaked at #3).

From April 1963, “Shy Girl” (peaked at #91).

From May 1963, peaking at #60-“The Last Leaf”.
