Artist Spotlight #15- Bobby Helms. He was born August 15, 1933 in Bloomington, Indiana. He was a country music artist who was able to crossover to the Top 40 charts with 3 different hits. One of his hits was an all-time Christmas classic, “Jingle Bell Rock”-this song would hit the nation’s Top 40 in December of 1957, December of 1958 and December of 1960. Six of his songs would hit the Top 100 with three of them hitting the Top 40.

A #1 country hit and #36 on the nation’s Top 40 in 1957-“Fraulein”.
His biggest non-Christmas hit-entering the charts on October 14, 1957, a record called “My Special Angel” (peaked at #7).
Entering the Top 100 on May 3, 1958 and peaking at #63-“Jaqueline”.
This next song will enter the nation’s Top 100 on December 14, 1958 and peak at #75-it will be called “The Fool And The Angel”. It will be one of my favorite records by Bobby Helms.
