William “Smokey” Robinson was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 19, 1940. By the year 1955, he had formed his first singing group, they were called The Five Chimes. In 1957, they became The Matadors. When success would come they would be known by yet another name-The Miracles. This next song was climbing the national charts in November of 1965-Smokey Robinson & The Miracles and “My Girl Has Gone”.
