Artist Spotlight #16-The Showmen. They came from Norfolk, Virginia and they would feature the lead voice of General Norman Johnson. The Showmen would be remembered for their 1961 rock anthem “It Will Stand”.

Artist Spotlight #17-Dorsey Burnette. He was the older brother of Johnny Burnette-born December 28, 1932 in Memphis, Tennessee. His first big hit was a song that was originally offered to Ricky Nelson-Ricky turned it down. That song was called “A Tall Oak Tree”

Artist Spotlight #18-Johnny Burnette. Johnny was the younger brother of Dorsey Burnette. Johnny was born March 25, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee. He had a successful recording career in the early 1960’s, a career cut short on August 14, 1964 by a fatal boating accident.

Artist Spotlight #19-Johnny Ace. Johnny was one of the top R & B singers of the early 1950’s. He would die Christmas day 1954 when he accidentally shot himself.

Artist Spotlight #20-The Cascades. They were a group from San Diego that will be remembered for their 1963 hit- “Rhythm Of The Rain”.
