Paul & Paula
Ray Hildebrand was born on December 21, 1940 in Joshua, Texas. Jill Jackson was born on May 20, 1942 in McCamey, Texas. They would form a duet while they were attending Howard Payne College in Brownwood, Texas. They would be known to us as Paul & Paula and they would soar to the top of the nation’s charts in the early part of 1963-#1 for 3 weeks.
In March of 1963 they would enter the nation’s Top 40 with “Young Lovers”
Their next hit would come in June of 1963 and it would be called “First Quarrel”
